Course Description:
Feeling like your sonography career has become more routine than rewarding? This session explores ten practical ideas to help you reconnect with your purpose, refresh your perspective, and rediscover meaning in your daily work. From mentoring and interprofessional collaboration to simple habits that improve workplace culture and well-being, participants will walk away with inspiration they can apply immediately, plus tools to turn those ideas into SMART, review-ready goals. (Approved for 1 SDMS CME credit, provided one is present for the entire event)
Course Objectives:Upon completion of this educational activity, the participant will be able to:
Identify at least five practical strategies for maintaining engagement and professional fulfillment in sonography practice.
Explain how mentoring, interprofessional collaboration, and professional scholarship can support personal and departmental growth.
Describe simple, low-cost ways to strengthen workplace culture and career satisfaction.
Apply the SMART goal framework to transform one idea from the session into a measurable objective for professional development or annual review.
About Our Speaker:
Margaret (Molly) Battin, MPH, RDMS, RVT, is a practicing sonographer, educator, and Assistant Program Director for ESP Ultrasound, where she leads the Pediatric Registry Review Course and supports curriculum development. She also teaches physics, abdominal, and small parts ultrasound at Concordia University – St. Paul, combining clinical experience with a practical, learner-centered teaching style.
She believes ultrasound education should be accessible and engaging for everyone, a philosophy she extends through her YouTube channel, Sononerds, which provides free, structured ultrasound education to thousands of learners worldwide.
Molly’s work has taken her beyond the classroom to international teaching projects in Kenya and Honduras, where she helps expand diagnostic ultrasound training in underserved settings. She also serves on the boards of IFSER and MSDU and contributes to the Journal of Diagnostic Medical Sonography as an Editorial Assistant and Peer Reviewer.
This activity is an approved SDMS CME activity – approved for 1.0 SDMS CME credit.
Please note that partial credit will not be issued.
The CME participant roster will be reported by Ultrasound Solutions Corp. to the SDMS
CME Tracker System.
Important update from the SDMS:
SDMS no longer allows its CME providers to issue Partial Credit for attendance. If you join late or leave early, the SDMS will no longer permit us to award partial pro-rated credit.
Therefore, from now on, in order to receive CME credit, you must be in attendance for the ENTIRE event via your own unique Zoom link that Zoom emailed to you when you registered. Then, and only then, will USC be able to award you any credit. So, please be prompt and attentive to the time schedule. We apologize for any inconvenience, but again, this is a new SDMS policy we must abide by. Thank you for understanding.
