ULTRASOUND SOLUTIONS CORP. is excited to welcome back Dr. Robert J. Feezor, Associate CMO of UF Health Physicians at Halifax Health, for an enlightening session on some of the non-atherosclerotic pathologies associated with the carotid vessels and nearby structures.
Course Description:
Using duplex sonography to diagnose and quantify carotid atherosclerotic burden is time-tested and standard-of-care. But carotid pathology such as dissections, carotid body tumors, or aneurysms can, on occasion, arise from non-atherosclerotic entities. Additionally, the complex anatomic structures surrounding the carotids (e.g. – thyroid gland, jugular vein) are sometimes visualized first with ultrasound. This discussion will feature some of these very instances and their critical clinical implications. (Approved for 1 SDMS CME credit, provided one is present for the entire event)
Course Objectives:Upon completion of this educational activity, the participant will be able to:
Discuss non-atherosclerotic carotid pathology, such as what else could go wrong with a carotid artery
Identify neck anatomy adjacent to the carotid vessels
Describe non-vascular “incidental findings”

Therefore, from now on, in order to receive CME credit, you must be in attendance for the ENTIRE event via your own unique Zoom link that Zoom emailed to you when you registered. Then, and only then, will USC be able to award you any credit. So, please be prompt and attentive to the time schedule. We apologize for any inconvenience, but again, this is a new SDMS policy we must abide by. Thank you for understanding.
