The Value of Opto-Acoustic Imaging: US Features & Al Decision Support Tool in Evaluation of Breast Cancer Subtypes

November 11 @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm EST

ULTRASOUND SOLUTIONS CORP. is pleased to welcome back Dr. A. Thomas Stavros, MD, FACR, FSRU, renowned expert in breast imaging, for a review of cases that demonstrate how to improve diagnostic accuracy.

Course Description:

Join A. Thomas Stavros, MD, for Part 3 of an in-depth discussion on the benefits of using Opto-Acoustic (OA) Imaging to improve the diagnosis of breast pathology. Our speaker will examine how the ordinal 3-zone scoring system for OA and ultrasound features properly account for both the genetic and epigenetic contributions to mass morphology and function. He will also talk about how the use of OA imaging, which demonstrates both neoangiogenesis and hypoxia, provides more diagnostic information than traditional mammographic and ultrasonographic information. (Approved for 1 SDMS CME credit, provided one is present for the entire event)

Course Objectives: Upon completion of this educational activity, the participant will be able to:

  • Recognize how educating breast imaging specialists on Opto-Acoustic (OA) imaging allows for improved differentiation between benign and malignant breast masses.
  • State how this imaging approach improves diagnostic accuracy in subtypes of cancers that are considered difficult to diagnose with mammography and ultrasound alone.
  • Appreciate examples of different cancer subtypes using OA imaging, gray-scale ultrasound, Doppler, and elastography.
