Risks and Assessment for Fetal Anemia

ULTRASOUND SOLUTIONS CORP. is pleased to welcome back Jane J.K. Burns, AS, RT, RDMS, MFM Ultrasound Manager at Texas Children’s Hospital/Pavilion for Women, for a detailed discussion on Fetal Anemia.

Course Description:

Fetal Anemia is considered to be a relatively rare but serious condition. Sonographic evaluation of the fetus allows for an accurate, yet non-invasive screening method. This presentation will discuss the most common etiologies of Fetal Anemia, current screening and diagnostic tools, as well as management of Fetal Anemia. (Approved for 1 SDMS CME credit, provided one is present for the entire event)

Course Objectives: Upon completion of this educational activity, the participant will be able to:

  • List the most common causes of Fetal Anemia
  • Describe lab screens used to assess fetal risk
  • Outline additional imaging requirements
  • Describe current fetal treatment options

About Our Speaker:

Jane J.K. Burns, AS, RT, RDMS, started her ultrasound career in 1980 and has been working in the field of Perinatal/MFM for the past 30+ years. She presently holds ultrasound registries in Abdomen, OB/GYN, and Fetal Echo, as well as NTQR certification. 

For the past 14 years, Jane has expanded her field of expertise to include work as a Sonography Educator. She has co-authored an OB/Gyn Registry Review Workbook. Presently, she is an Ultrasound Educator at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, as well as the Perinatal Ultrasound Manager at Texas Children’s Hospital.

Jane continues to present OB lectures at various ultrasound programs and loves to share her OB images, case studies, and “tips & tricks” to help others improve their image quality and knowledge.

This activity is an approved SDMS CME activity – approved for 1.0 SDMS CME credit.

Please note that partial credit will not be issued.

SDMS CME Tracker System.

Important update from the SDMS:

SDMS no longer allows its CME providers to issue Partial Credit for attendance. If you join late or leave early, the SDMS will no longer permit us to award partial pro-rated credit.

Therefore, from now on, in order to receive CME credit, you must be in attendance for the ENTIRE event via your own unique Zoom link that Zoom emailed to you when you registered. Then, and only then, will USC be able to award you any credit. So, please be prompt and attentive to the time schedule.
