About Our Speaker:

Jeff Jewell, BS, RDCS, FASE, is the Lead Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer at WakeMed Children’s Hospital in Raleigh, NC. Jeff has been a Sonographer since graduating with distinction in 1996 from the U.S. Naval Cardiovascular Technologist Program. During his early career, he worked in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory where he oversaw the Electrophysiology Laboratory and the Pediatric Laboratory. Once he left the Navy, he accepted a position at UNC-Chapel Hill in the Pediatric Echo Lab. While working at UNC, he began his role as an educator, training new Sonography Students and Adult Cardiac Sonographers that were performing pediatric exams from remote sites.

Jeff strongly believes it is important to be involved with multiple professional societies and to dedicate volunteer time on different committees to increase one’s knowledge and meet people from all around the country. To fulfill that pledge, he has lectured for the North Carolina Ultrasound Society (NCUS) and served on their Board of Directors, as both Vice President and President. His current position with NCUS is Treasurer. Jeff is also a member of the American Society of Echocardiography, serving on their Guidelines and Standards Committee, as well as on the Communications Committee for the Society of Pediatric Echocardiography.

Beyond his numerous volunteer activities, he has been published in the November 2021 issue of ECHO Magazine.

This activity is an approved SDMS CME activity – approved for 1.0 SDMS CME credit.

Please note that partial credit will not be issued.

The CME participant roster will be reported by Ultrasound Solutions Corp. to the
